Children’s health is an integral part of their emotional, mental and social wellbeing. Canadian Kids Nursery encourages healthy eating as well as providing an enabling environment to support their physical activities.

 
Below are some ideas for your child’s snack box.
In my snack box
Sandwiches (brown or whole meal) rolls, wraps – cutting them into interesting shapes can make them more inviting.
Pasta, rice, potato or couscous salads
Veggie snacks – tomatoes, carrot sticks, cucumber, and celery.
Snacks rich in protein such as tuna, chicken, pulses and grains.
Unprocessed cheese
Fruits – grapes, apples, banana
Dried fruits – raisins, apricots
Yoghurt – watch out for high sugar content in some flavored yoghurts as well as other additives.
Water and fresh juices

Sweets, chocolate and fizzy drinks – these are empty calories and give your children a temporary sugar rush.

In playgrounds
Our high-quality playgrounds and indoor edutainment equipment are safe, sturdy and tested every month by our facilities technicians to ensure they are secure and in good working order.
Secure fencing around all outside play areas and wall edges provide that extra peace of mind when you leave your child in our care.
We have safe fall zones with soft landing areas if your child takes a tumble.
 
Through Sanitation
We clean our Nurseries each day with safe non-toxic ENJO cleaning products.
CKN sanitize toys throughout the day to help prevent the spread of germs.
We encourage children to wash their hands throughout the day by singing songs about health and hygiene.
Diapering is conducted in designated areas in the washrooms.

Only authorized staff and families are allowed to pick up your child.

Based on new research about healthy practices for infants, we require you to fill a medication dispensing form with the nurse.
